About the buildings:
Vestsiden student accommodation consists of two buildings - one in solid wood and one with a brick facade - with a total of 155 housing units. The wooden building has been named Silva, which means forest. The name also makes you think of silver and the silver mines for which Kongsberg is so well known. The building with the brick facade has been named Monti, which means mountains. The names refer to both their construction materials and the surrounding landscapes.
Silva is four floors high, while Monti has three floors.
The buildings consists of the following units:
• 50 single units (15 m²) with private bathroom and shared kitchen.
• 6 HC single units (20 m²) with private bathroom and shared kitchen.
• 85 single units (19-20 m²) with both private bathroom and kitchen.
• 4 HC single units (26-29 m²) with both private bathroom and kitchen.
• 10 two-bedroom apartments with separate bedroom, private bathroom and kitchen/living room (30 m²).
