About the building:
The seven-floor building on Stasjonsbakken was completed in the summer of 2007 and consists of 74 housing units, a commercial area and underground parking. The student accommodation is located on the top four floors. There are two common rooms open to all residents. All rooms and indoor common rooms are non-smoking.
- +Electricity and energy
Electricity is included in the rent.
The building get its energy from geo wells, and radiators, ventilation heating and hot water are driven by these.
Click the buildings and units for an overview of furnishings/equipment. You will have to bring your own duvet, pillow, bedding and kitchen utensils, in addition to cleaning equipment and a vacuum cleaner. You are not allowed to remove furniture from the unit, but you are allowed to bring additional furniture if there is space.

The student accommodation has free Internet connection allowing residents to stream TV signals as a free additional service.
There are lifts in the building.
Papillon student accommodation is located close to Kongsberg city centre and the railway station in Kongsberg, approximately 1 km from the University or a 10-minute walk.
- +Outdoor area
Residents have access to two rooftop terraces and an outdoor atrium.

You will receive a key card (free of charge) when you move in to your student accommodation.
Garage and main door: Hold the card in front of the device reader. It will flash green. Enter your four-digit code. The door unlocks.
Unit/apartment doors: Hold the card in front of the device reader. Push down the door handle and open the door when you get a green flash and a single beep. The door will automatically lock when you close it, but may be opened from the inside using the doorknob.
NB! Do not make holes in, or write on the key card – it may stop working.
Note – buy yourself a backup key card from our service centre: Since the doors lock automatically when closed, it is possible you may get locked out. It may be a good idea to keep an extra key card at e.g. a friend's place. That way, if you loose your main key card or get locked out, you will not need to get charged. Read about what you need to do if you lock yourself out/lose your key card or need some assistance.
Error message from the device reader on unit/apartment doors: Green and red lights flash alternately: means low battery and the batteries need to be replaced immediately. If the batteries are low, the green and red lights might flash at the same time. Please let us know if the readers are in need of battery replacement.
When you move out, you need to return your key cards to our service centre. The dropbox by the mailboxes may be used as well. CAUTION! If you do not return your key card, you will be charged a fee. See the price list.
- +Shared laundry room
The laundry room is on the first floor.
When moving in you will receive a "laundry-card" with login-info. You stock the card with value online. The card itself has a small cost which will be added to your rent once (see the pricelist for current price), and it is pre-stocked with a small sum, so that you can use it right away. If you loose your card, a new one can be purchased at your local service centre. Please remember to turn your laundry-card in when moving out, it can be used again.
Find more information about how to use the laundry, how to stock your laundry-card, change of username and password and reservation in the laundry user manual.
All apartments have their own lockable storage room.
- +Waste disposal
Waste containers are located on the ground floor. Remember to recycle!
