Questions?

If you have any questions, please contact SSN IT via My Page, or contact our service office during opening hours.

  • + Cable

A router from SSN (Dlink DIR-100) has been placed in your apartment. To use a wired connection, you must connect the device through this. Use one or more of the blue ports marked 1-4. The grey port marked "Internet" must be plugged into the wall outlet.

The router is fully configured by us and must not be reset/changed. We recommend that you use network cables of the standard cat5e or newer.

  • + TV

To use IPTV, you need to connect your device (the TV box) to one of the LAN ports (1-4) on the router. A TV box/subscription can be purchased from, for example, SnapTV

  • + WiFi

These wireless networks are available in public areas (kitchen/lounge/hallway):

    Eduroam

This is the same wireless network that you will find on campus (in addition to a number of other locations). To log in to eduroam, you must use your student account (xxxxxx@usn.no + password). You obtain your student account from the university at the start of studies. More information about student accounts can be found on the USN website. Information about connecting to eduroam from various devices (Norwegian).

Eduroam uses wpa-enterprise for authentication. This means you need both a username and password to log in. Many devices such as smart TV, Chromecast, Apple TV and gaming consoles do not support this and therefore cannot be used on eduroam.

    USN Guest

This is the guest network for USN. When you connect to this you will see guidance on how to register for 12 hours access.
