Yay! Your own key to your own home! The key card or key can be collected from SSN's office, or you can lock yourself in from your mobile phone on the app or My page.

When?

Your key can be picked up/you can lock yourself in from 1 pm on the day your contract starts.

To collect your key, you may proceed as follows:

Where are you moving in?

  • If you are moving into student accommodation at Notodden, Porsgrunn, Kirkegata in Kongsberg or at Breisås/Grivi in Bø, you can only use options 2 and 3.

  • At Ringerike and Rauland, the general rule is that the key is left in your room. You lock yourself in digitally with My key card in the app or on My page - read more under option 1.

  • Residents in Vestfold, Drammen, Kongsberg (except for Kirkegata) and Campus Bø Student housing can use all three options.

Many of our student residences offers lock-in via My page

If you arrive at your new student residence outside our opening hours, you can lock yourself in via My page and My key card. You can also access this in the Student Sørøst app under the Student Housing service.

NB! Remember to create a user account with the same e-mail address as on My page!

With My key card you can open all doors to which you have been given access (external doors, doors to common rooms, storage rooms, laundry etc. - in addition to the door to your room, of course:).

Read more about using your phone as a key here.

Who does this apply to?

This applies to all our student housing buildings except Notodden, Rauland, Porsgrunn and Breisås and Grivi in Bø

The key card function is activated on your My page from 1:00 pm on the day your contract starts.

Key card at your room when you move in

If you are going to live at Campus Ringerike Student Housing, Vestsiden or Papillon in Kongsberg, Campus Bø Student Housing or any housing in Drammen, you may arrange with us to leave the key inside your room. Simple and flexible for you, as you can lock yourself in with My key card and don't have to think about opening hours in the service office.

Get a key card as well!

If you have not received a key card in your room, you should visit the service office as soon as you can to collect your key card.

We recommend that you always bring a key card when you leave your student housing. Unlocking the door from "My page" will not work if you don´t have internet or My page is down.

NB. This is the only option for key collection for residents of Notodden, Rauland, Porsgrunn and Breisås and Grivi in Bø. These properties have normal keys (not key cards).

  • When moving in, you can get your key from 1.00 pm on the first day of the contract. On the first days of the contracts, offices usually close at 2.00 pm.

  • You can pick up your key on a different day than on the first day of the contract, but it must be picked up within our opening hours and within fourteen (14) days after the start of the contract.

  • Remember to bring valid identification (for example, bank card with photo, driver's license or passport).

Find information about the SSN-office at your campus here.

NB! If your first day of contract is on a weekend or on a public holiday, you can get your key the next working day at 1.00 pm.

It's not possible to move in between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day, and during the week before Easter Sunday.

They will need an authorisation from you, or you may send us an email with the person’s name.

Important! The first rent must be paid

The first rent invoice has to be paid before picking up your key. It takes approximately 2-3 days before payment is registered in our system. If you have not received an invoice by the start of the contract, please contact SSN's Finance Department.

Read more about rent in our FAQ.

Please bring a receipt when picking up the key if you paid the first invoice just a few days before moving in.

Picking up the key later?

Please notify us if you are not able to pick up your key within fourteen (14) days after the contract date.

If you do not want to live with us after all, you must cancel your contract as soon as possible. We will do our best to release you from the contract by bringing in a new tenant, but you should prepare to have to pay rent for the whole notice period, which is three - 3 - months.
