  • + Can I have as much food as I want?

    SSN does not set a weight limit, but recommends that the meal only applies to the coupon holder. Provide yourself with what you intend to eat and think about limiting food waste for the environment :)

  • + Can I take what I want?

    Each coupon applies to one meal with food and drink and applies to food made in the restaurant such as soup, hot food, salad bar or sandwiches, as well as optional drinks.

  • + Do the gift cards apply to USN employees, external users or students belonging to institutions other than USN?

    No, the gift cards for free food and drink are only valid for students at USN.

  • + For how long are the gift cards valid?

    The gift cards are valid from October 1 to December 15, 2021.

  • + How do I set student status in the app?

    If your student status is not approved in the app, we ask you to check that you can say yes to the following:

    1. You are a student at USN.
    2. You have paid your semester fee.
    3. You have selected the customer type Student USN under your Profile Settings.
    4. You have added your mobile phone number under Profile settings (this should be the same number that you are registered with at USN).

    If you still have not been approved student status on My profile in the app, please contact us at [email protected] and attach a picture of your student ID, and we will help you!

  • + How do I use my gift cards?

    When you are in the restaurant:

    • Provide yourself with the food and drink you want and go to the checkout.
    • Go to Food and Drink in your app, go to Coupons and find Gavekort from USN.

    On self-service checkout:

    1. NOTE! DO NOT put food on the scales or scan any of the items at checkout.
    2. Press Student at checkout, scan the QR code on the coupon and press pay. The coupon has been used and the purchase completed. Eat and enjoy!

    On checkout with a cashier:

    1. Have your coupon ready, have it scanned by the cashier and take your meal with you :)
    2. Eat and enjoy!
  • + How many coupons do I get?

    All students at USN who have the app Student Sørøst and approved student status in the app receive two coupons each.

  • + I have not received gift cards from USN?

    If you have not received gift cards, please make sure that you can check off the following:

    1.    You are a student at USN, and have paid the semester fee.
    2.    You have downloaded the Student Sørøst app and created a user account.
    3.    You have updated your user account with your cell phone number and set student status in the app. This is how you do it.

    Once student status is approved, you will receive your gift cards after a while (the systems need time to talk to each other).

    If you can say check on the list above, and have waited for a short amount of time - and you STILL have not received your gift cards, please contact us at [email protected], so that we can help you!

  • + My student status is not approved, what to do?

    If you have followed the list in How do I set student status in the app? - and do not get approved, despite the fact that you have used the correct telephone number and have paid the semester fee, we ask you to send us an e-mail to [email protected], and attach a picture of your student ID. We will help you!

  • + Where can I find the gift cards?

    You find the gift cards in your Student Sørøst app, under Food and drink and Coupons. 

  • + Why are my giftcards gone without being used? I had them yesterday!

    More than one user account?

    You have probably created more than one user account in the app, and you have been logged out from the account the gift cards were given to, before you have logged in to the app again with another account. Your gift cards are thus in the "wrong" account.

    Try logging out of the account you are currently logged in with that does not have a gift card. Log in again with the other account, and see if the gift cards are there;)

    If you already had a user account on SSN's My page (associated with an application for housing or health reimbursement), this also works in the app. It may be that the gift cards were given to this user, despite the fact that you created a new user when you downloaded the app.
