International student and no D-number?

Our Healthline will help booking your first appointment, if you do not have a D-number:

SSN's Health service phone

Open Mon-Fri 8.30 am-11 am / 11.30 am-2 pm

D-number / social service number

To book an appointment with one of our therapists online, you'll need a "D number" if you are an international student.

The D number is a temporary identification number which can be assigned to foreign persons who'll generally be resident in Norway for less than six months.

  • If you are from a country within the EU, you need to contact The Norwegian Tax Administration to get your D number.

  • If you are from a country outside the EU, you need to contact UDI (The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration) to get your D number.

When staying in Norway for more than six months you need to apply for an F number.

  • If it is your first time booking an appointment with us, or if it has been many months since the last conversation, you can book the appointment yourself online.

  • During the first appointment, we will have a short conversation to figure out your needs and how to proceed. If there is a need for more conversations, these might be with a different person than the one you met with initially.

  • You will receive confirmation by SMS once the appointment is booked.

  • New appointments are booked if needed. You do not need to book them yourself after the first conversation.

Evaluation

It is important for us in the counselling service that you get the best possible help.

Therefore we want you to fill in the survey that you will receive on your phone two days before your session. This is a good preparation both for you and your therapist.
