The most gripping documentary of the year!
Salon guest: Mona Nicolaysen

A Palestinian activist allies himself with an Israeli investigative journalist. Together they fight against Israel's settlement policy as a daily displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and make them homeless. Ever since childhood, Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist, has fought against the forced eviction of the inhabitants of the town of Masafer Yatta in the West Bank. Gradually, Israeli occupation forces are destroying their homes, forcing the inhabitants to leave the area, and giving it to Israeli settlers, who have close ties to the Israeli military. Basel allies itself with the journalist Yuval, and together they document the abuses that present the Palestinians with an impossible dilemma; They can stay and live in undignified conditions, or give up and leave their homes.
Over several years, an Israeli-Palestinian film collective – with two Palestinian and two Israeli filmmakers – has documented the injustice Palestinians in the West Bank are subjected to on a daily basis, right up until the dramatic development in the autumn of 2023.Throughout Basel's history, NO OTHER LAND tells in a powerful way about Palestinian activism, and Korlei's activism is passed down from generation to generation.
The film has resonated well with audiences and critics, and sweeps with awards at festivals all over the world. It has been nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary.

In the lounge after the film, we are visited by Mona Nicolaysen, who is a Ph.D. fellow at USN, Notodden, and has several stays both in Gaza and on the West Bank behind her.

Co-organizer is the Palestine Committee in Telemark.
