Professor emeritus Willy Aagre, together with Professor Espen Schaanning, has published the debate book The school's meaning - fifty years after Nils Christie's If the school did not exist ».
In his lecture, Aagre will give a brief introduction to Nils Christies
school criticism before drawing some long lines from radical school attempts
in the 1930s, via Forsøksgymnaset and Nyskolen in Oslo and their radicals
thinking about student democracy and up to today's diverse
school challenges.
