THE AUDIENCE SUCCESS ‘GOOD LUCK, CATHRINE FROST!’ IS A HUMOUR SHOW ABOUT PHILOSOPHY, CHILDBIRTH AND PUBLIC HEALTH
Since its premiere, Cathrine Frost has played to full houses at Det Andre Teatret, the National Theatre, in London and at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. The production tells the self-experienced story of Cathrine Frost and her encounter with the desire to have children and her encounter with the world afterwards. With humour and seriousness, she shatters our view of what it means to become a mother and how we relate to the small, big act of being born.Did you know that Socrates was pregnant? Yes, all the time! In fact, he and his colleagues in the Athens think tank believed that they gave birth all the time. They gave life to the immortal, pure and civilised: To the IDEA! Now, however, it's Cathrine Frost's turn to put on the toga and take the helm in the cradle of civilisation. But she has little or no chance of succeeding.
Note: We have experienced that this performance can have a strong effect on some audience members, and for people with haematophobia (blood phobia) it has in some cases led to fainting. The performance contains descriptions of bodily fluids and descriptive details from a specific birth experience.
Strobe lights are used in the performance.
