Data Centers in SkienData Centers in Skien: Experiences, possibilities, and dilemmas for a community
Wednesday 11. Nov, 14:00 -
Main Building, Bø
Data centers are expanding rapidly across Norway, bringing new questions about energy, land use, infrastructure, jobs and local value creation. In this Encounters for Change (E4C) encounter, representatives from Skien Municipality will share their experience with data center development and the choices, opportunities, and trade-offs it creates for a community. All students, faculty, and local community is welcome to join and participate. The conversation connects sustainability, technology and local development, asking a simple but difficult question: When is a data center a good investment for a local community? This event is organized as part of a joint agenda of the Nexus Student Association (Master in Sustainability Management) and the social initiative of Encounters for Change (E4C).
