Lecture on garden history - Bø and Sauherad garden association

Thursday, March 12 at 7 PM there will be a lecture on garden history at Bø prestegård. The evening’s lecturer is Berit Rønsen from the Directorate for Cultural Heritage. She will give us a sweep through garden history, from the early monastery gardens in the Middle Ages, through the Renaissance, Baroque, and landscape style, up to modernism in the 20th century. We will hear about trends and styles that influenced the different periods, and about how impulses from abroad affected garden art in Norway, where vicarage gardens played an important role. We will also get a brief information on the work with the vicarage garden in Bø by Tore Bjørn Pettersen.
Admission is free and refreshments are provided for everyone.
