In the Iranian film Just an Accident, we follow a former prisoner who kidnaps the man he believes ruined his life, setting off an unpredictable chain of events. The film is a moral‑philosophical drama and a gripping portrait of a man trapped in his own moral dilemma.
Among today’s leading Iranian filmmakers, Jafar Panahi has long stood out as one of the most light‑footed and humorous voices.
The film is nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and received the Audience Award at Film from the South.
Guest of the salon: Kalle Løchen, film scholar and cultural commentator.
Due to upgrades to the cinema hall, the film will be screened in Storsalen. The salon discussion will take place in Framstugo, as usual, with light refreshments included in the ticket.
Everyone is welcome!
