Maarud/ Raknes / Vespestad is a completely unique trio. Their history alone will make the most discerning music lover put coffee down their throats. Now they have joined forces and become a trio where blues, rock, jazz and the joy of playing meet. It is playful, it is challenging, it is rhythmically inspiring, it is melodious and dynamic.
Steinar Raknes is one of Norway's leading double bassists, and is also a vocalist and songwriter. Raknes has been a central figure in Norwegian jazz for the past 25 years, with a virtuoso playing style and electronic experimentation. Amund Maarud is the guitar hero who loves to push genre boundaries, and is referred to as the creator of Norwegian nu-blues. Jarle Vespestad is known from a number of bands and is always a brilliant man to have behind the drum kit.
