Belonging in poetry - Selma Yonus og Brynjulf Jung Tjønn

Welcome to an evening about belonging and alienation with the poets Selma M. Yonus and Brynjulf Jung Tjønn.
Yonus: Lullaby for little warrior and Tjønns: White, Norwegian man both revolve around questions about feeling alienated and at home in the landscape, in language and in the body. Common to the two poets is that they were born elsewhere than in Norway and share experience of being seen as different. Selma M. Yonus has translated some of Brynjulf Jung Tjønn's poems into Arabic, and she will read his poems in her native language, while he reads hers in Norwegian. We believe that the event can provide important perspectives on what it means to feel alienated and to experience a sense of home in our surroundings, in each other and ourselves.
