Film screening: Ellos Eatnu - Let the river flow

Welcome to our screening of Ellos Eatnu - Let the river flow in Kroa Thursday 8th!
Tuesday 6th is the Sami national day (6th) and we want to invite you to come learn more about modern Sami history and the conflict when green energy comes at the cost of sacred and/or culturally important land.
The movie is in Norwegian/Sami with English subtitles.

About the movie:
Ester moves to Alta in the autumn of 1979 and starts her first job as a substitute teacher. In order to fit in with her colleagues, she keeps her Sami background hidden. Ester's cousin is a Sami activist and participates in the demonstrations against the planned hydropower plant in the Alta river. When Ester joins him at the protest camp, her awakening begins - and the journey out of shame. She throws herself into a conflict-filled battle for the preservation of the river and for the right to be herself.
ELLOS EATNU – LA ELVA LEVE is a drama with deep conflicts, about a young person's courage in the fight for Sami rights in one of the most important events in Sami and Norwegian history.
